Today, I will be speaking to you all regarding our planned trip to Mt. Robson Park.
Things are rather "fluid" at this time, and it is important that you listen carefully, read this blog, and follow directions very carefully.
It is important that you check my blog frequently from now until Wednesday next week!
Here is the plan:
We are going ahead with our planned Mt. Robson trip, but moving it 24 hours to leave on Thursday, May 29, and return on Saturday, May 31.
May 29: Depart at 7am Hike to Whitehorn Campsite
May 30: Full Day hike to Berg Lake and return to pick up backpacks and hike additional 4.0km back down the trail to Kinney Lake Campsite.
May 31: Enjoy the lakeshore before hiking out 7.0km to the trailhead and drive home, arriving by 6pm.
There is a $20.00 fee that each needs to pay for the campsite permit, so this you need to bring to class by Monday, May 25.
Also, I need to inform you of the work that has been collected in recent days:
1. On Tuesday, May 30, the "BEAR SAFETY" assignment was due and collected.
2. In Class on Tuesday, May 30, the class was in the computer lab to complete a summary of the key points found under the heading: Nature and Culture.
This was found by going to BC Parks Website, then clicking on Mt. Robson Provincial Park, and you were to read all the headings on the "front page", including: Attention Visitors, Know Before You Go, About This Park, then the one you were to take notes on: Nature and Culture and its sub headings.
3. In Class on Tuesday as well, the article..."Bear Proofing your Campsite"...was given and you were to make a web...concept map...of the key ideas in the article.
I expect you to complete these assignments if you were absent!
