The Presentation of Learning Experience (POLE) takes place on our Double Block Day on Thursday, June 19. We have the class during the morning for a complete 2.0 hours.
This project (presentation) is to be done as an individual project. In this way, it ensures that each of you have an opportunity to share your own story or narrative about your experience at Mt. Robson.
You will have some class time to work on this. Four dates for computer work time in Computer Room D10 are: Friday, June 6, Monday, June 9, Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13.
The presentation can be done by using a choice of web 2.0 tools that you are comfortable with and have prior knowledge of how to use. Here are just some possibilities: Powerpoint, Prezi, Google Drive, Imovie and others.
Along with pictures, you need to include text, using the criteria from the Personal Reflection assignment to "steer" what you will include in the text part.
This includes Maslow's needs, benefits, highlights, challenges, ways to improve and enhance your experience.
You may embed video clips that you may have taken with your camera.
Criteria:
1. It is important that you choose your pictures carefully, and that your text has meaning that reflects what the photo is showing.
2. It is important that you keep the number of points on each slide to a maximum of three points as too much text will confuse the audience.
3. I need you to include text on the various Styles of Leadership that you observed Mr. Findlay use at different times during the trip......more about this in class.
4. I need you to include text with photos on the need to practice minimum impact camping and environmental care ethics while in the backcountry.
5. I need you to include text related to bear safety and best practices in bear country.
6. I need you to include examples of how Mr. Findlay ensures that our group "Leaves No Trace" and takes nothing but photos.
7. I need you to include interesting facts and information about Mt. Robson Park and the world famous Berg Lake Trail. You can use the Mt. Robson Park website and trail information that I have given to you.
8. Spelling and Grammar are important as in any assignment that you would submit.
Evaluation:
1. You need to provide me with a copy of the presentation. This could be a link to a Prezi, a link to a powerpoint, or a copy on a CD.
I need you to ensure that it "works" and that you are ready to present.
2. This is your FINAL PRESENTATION.....like your FINAL EXAM, so you need to produce a polished presentation.
3. This is worth 50 Marks.
4. I need you to identify by Friday, June 6, what type of presentation you plan to make.
